Paediatric Scar Guidelines

Wound Heals in 14 -21 days

Moisturise and Massage twice daily

Silicone gel and spray twice daily

 

Review after 2-3 months

 

Scar matures in 6-12 months

 

Problem scar may require additional treatment

such as;

 

Pressure garments

Silicone gel and spray

Steroid treatment

Splinting

Laser Therapy

Surgical Intervention

Acupuncture

Camouflage

 

Paediatric Scar matures in

18-24 months

Wound Heals more than

21 days

Moisturise and Massage twice daily

Silicone gel and spray twice daily

Pressure garments daily

 

Review after 2-3 months

 

Scar matures in 9-12 months
